I’ve compiled some of the most powerful Patrice Motsepe quotes.
Patrice Motsepe was born on January 28, 1962. He is a billionaire mining mogul from South Africa. He has been the President of the Confederation of African Football since March 12, 2021. African Rainbow Minerals, in which he is the founder and executive chairman, has interests in gold, ferrous metals, base metals, and platinum.
Motsepe serves on the boards of many companies, including Harmony Gold, the world’s 12th largest gold mining firm, and Sanlam, where he is the deputy chairman. With a fortune of R20.07 billion ($1 billion), he was named the richest person in South Africa by the Sunday Times‘ annual Rich List in 2012.
Patrice Motsepe began his career as a schoolteacher and later became the owner of a Spaza shop that catered to black mining workers. At this shop, Motsepe learned basic business concepts from his father, as well as firsthand mining experience.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Swaziland and a law degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, majoring in mining and business law.
He became the owner of Mamelodi Sundowns in 2003 and joined The Giving Pledge in 2013, committing to donate half of his wealth to philanthropic causes.
