A compilation of 9 Daniel arap Moi quotes.
Daniel arap Moi was born in September 1924 and died on February 4, 2020. He was a Kenyan politician who was the country’s second president from 1978 until 2002.
Moi previously served as Kenya‘s third vice president from 1967 until 1978, succeeding President Jomo Kenyatta after the latter’s death.
Moi’s rule was often seen as tyrannical and autocratic, particularly prior to 1992, when Kenya was a one-party state. Human rights organisations, including Amnesty International, as well as a United Nations special investigation, accused Moi of human rights violations during his presidency.
Inquiries undertaken after Moi’s presidency ended revealed evidence that Moi and his sons had been involved in major amounts of corruption, notably in the Goldenberg scandal in the 1990s.
